All of the Year 12 Geography students enjoyed a 4 day visit to North Wales and then Manchester. For part of their Geography course they climbed part way up Snowdon and then studied channel efficiency on the Afon Glaslyn. The day also included a trip to Morfa Harlech to prepare for year 13 work with succession of a psamosere.
After a quick challenge with a rock at Ogwen Cottage the group then travelled to Manchester and studied regeneration at Salford Quays, spotting famous TV programmes enroute. The evening everyone experienced curry mile in Rusholme.
The final day included a walking tour around Manchester and a look at Tuti Fruiti Street where urban designers were given free pen to design modern urban buildings. Finally a tour out of the city through Moss Side and Didsbury to Cheadle looking at the characteristics of Urban Zoning before catching the ferry home. Great trip had by all and excellent preparation for the exams.
